Impression: If you ask a Texan, South Padre Island is more known for Spring Breaks!! But apart from that, it is a nice and quite island with population about 5000 people (in 2008). Even though it is quite near from Galveston (Refinery Town of Texas) the beach in South Padre Island is very clean. In South Padre Island you will find spectacular beaches and warm gulf waters. Travel Ideas: Mexico - Tulum Beach

Pleasantly Surprise: There are many hotels and Inns in South Padre Island with direct access to the beach at low rate of 50 to 70 dollars per night.

Tips: If you are interested in Eco-Tourism, this is a wonderful place. South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center, Dolphin Research Center, National Wild Life Refuge are few to name.

Sand Castle Contest: There is another reason to visit South Padre Island. Its yearly Sand Castle Contest.

Sand Castle Days (Festival) showcases unique art of Sand Sculptures. South Padre is one of the top 10 destinations for Sand Castle Contest.
